SuperSpeed's SB208-50DS 50x80mm "Dirt Special" bearings are custom manufactured to meet the rigorous demands of dirt racing. To keep grit and moisture out, we use special removable full-contact seals which also allow you to easily remove the seals and clean the bearing should some fine grit sneak pass the seal. Our SB208-50DS bearings also use hardened chrome steel balls and low viscosity oil lubricant to reduce ring wear in the presence of grit. This also keeps the cost down, realizing you may be replacing bearings more frequently when running in dirt. Like our SB208-50CH ceramic hybrid bearings, the Dirt Special utilizes the standard spherical insert configuration for 50mm bearings, with an extended shoulder on one side for the utilization of set screws. They also use Ball Point type set screws, originally developed by NTN to reduce or eliminate axle damage and distortion that standard knurled or cup-style set screws cause, while lasting over 7 times longer.
All of our bearings are custom manufactured exclusively for SuperSpeed™ Racing. We start with the highest quality components, including 52100 chrome steel deep groove rings and low friction polyamide cages and low viscosity oil lubricant, eliminating up to 90% of the friction of most other bearings. (Note that all SuperSpeed™ bearings should be lubricated before the first use, re-lubed frequently and cleaned occasionally, depending on conditions of use, to offer the lowest friction and longest life possible.
